![]() It’s great to take to work or as a packable travelling daypack. Best Use of the Backpackįor me, the best use of the Imperial Motion NCT backpack is as small to a medium-sized daypack. With the backpack not that structural supportive, I found the padded pocket as a great place to protect any books that I was carrying. What I did find the laptop sleeve very useful for though was carry books. It’s great to have as a backup on the couple of occasions I’ve taken my laptop with me, but I wouldn’t want to use it every day for my laptop. Lastly, the laptop padding is ok, but not fantastic. They are just a little bit too small for most items. There are some small pockets on the side of the backpack, which are pretty impractical. This is something that I didn’t like at first, but as I continued to use the bag and fill it up I found it wasn’t a huge issue. Consĭue to the thinness of the NCT fabric along with the mid-level of padding the backpack seems to collapse on itself pretty easily. I’ve been using the backpack for a while now and thoroughly enjoy it, it’s incredibly lightweight and a great day pack to take with you travelling or in my case on the commute to work and back. The material is an incredibly unique feature and one well suited for a backpack. Overall the greatest part of the backpack is the NCT self-healing material (It also comes with a sample piece so you can test it out without having to put a hole in your backpack). At the back, the bag is well padded without being anything special, there is no structural support back there so Its not great for heavy loads, but nice for daypack type items. It’s pretty comfortable and easy to take with you every day. The bag is also fitted with waterproof zippers which nicely compliment the water-resistant coating of the NCT fabric. Light backpacks can be fantastic in certain situations and if that matches what you’re after, then this is definitely an excellent choice. Since I’ve been using the backpack for a while, apart from the material, the biggest pros are that the backpack is very lightweight which is great for a daypack. Located as well in the main compartment are some small zippered pockets and a key clip. The laptop sleeve has an ok level of padding and is large enough to fit most 15 inch laptops. Internally in the main compartment, you will find a tablet pocket and a padded laptop sleeve. These pockets are really too small for a drink bottle and are really better suited for small items like phones, wallets, keys etc. Located on the sides of the backpack are 2 small zippered pockets. The design is relatively simple with a medium size front pocket and the main compartment, equipped with a laptop sleeve. It is a 20L backpack, weighing _ that is _ high, _ wide and _ deep. The backpack comes in 5 colours, Black, Olive, blue pink and white. Let’s take a closer look at the specs and the features of the backpack. ![]() Looking at the backpack as a whole, there are some features that I love and some that don’t work that well for me. But, like with all backpacks, the material is only one aspect of the finished product. Undoubtedly the material of the bag is highly impressive and a wonderful aspect. I’ve been using the NCT backpack for a few months now as my day bag, and while I wasn’t sure of the backpack’s design at first, it has grown on me and I really like it. Now, I don’t do detailed reviews of products that I haven’t used as I feel it really takes a little bit of time to really get used to the product and experience it in a variety of situations. When it comes to backpacks, I think it’s a fantastic feature as its unique and adds that extra level of function to the backpack, setting it apart from the competition.Įnough on the material, let’s look at the backpack as a whole. Imperial Motion is using the material in a number of products including tents and what we’re interested in… backpacks. The technology of the material is cutting edge and incredibly innovative. When the material is punctured it doesn’t damage the fabric as it has the ability to seemingly magically re-align the threads and self-heal when you rub the area with your fingers. It does this by allowing the fibres of the fabric separate from each other rather than tearing. The fabric of the backpack is called Nano Cure Technology, and it has this extraordinary ability to self-heal if it’s punctured. ![]() I’ve been fascinated by the concept of self-healing materials since I was a kid, so to discover that Imperial motion had created such material and used it in a product was a big deal. ![]() I’ll admit, that when I first learnt about the NCT Nano Backpack by Imperial Motion I got pretty excited. ![]()
